Project Overview

Basecamp Outdoor is working to increase salary transparency on job postings. 

Working with the client’s team, we sought to find a way to use motion graphics to communicate the importance of including salary on job postings, while creating a file size that can be shared across various social media platforms and through email.

Process

We used existing brand elements to create a motion graphic that depicts a journey; much like the journey that job seekers embark on when they apply to open positions. Varied weight is used to highlight important concepts and to provide contrast within the text.

We decided to go with a 1:1 square posting ratio, as the graphic could translate effectively across multiple platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram.

A storyboard for the motion graphic we created, featuring a camper van driving through various terrain and with various words coming up on its journey.

Final Product & Testimonial

The final product is a short 30 second motion graphic that lists the top 5 reasons to include the salary in job postings.

 

Hannah acted like a senior designer throughout the project she completed for us! She communicated proactively so we were always apprised, never surprised, and our team always knew next steps, what was needed from us, and how the project was progressing. She aced the feedback rounds and artfully used our comments as data to evolve the project in the right direction. The final product was adorable and we can't wait to display it!
